Jazz Bass Glitter Coats

Now that the base coats are on and have a bit of time to dry, time for the glitter coats.  This is clear paint with red glitter suspended in it.  It really makes the finish sparkle!  The glitter is not very noticeable until the clear top coat is applied and polished flat.  But it sure does look cool!

I applied 4-5 coats of the glitter paint concentrating on the “show” sides of the bass.  This stuff gets everywhere and my back yard looks like a unicorn puked.

You can see some of the sparkle in this video, but you also see a lot of orange peel.

The next step is to apply a headstock decal and then on to the clear coats.
