Cherry Papa 🍒

I want to put a name on the face of the headstock.  I decided to name the bass CherryPapa.  It’s kind of a play on “cherry popper” and being old “papa”.  I think a red sparkly thing looks kind of 70’s like my old motorcycle helmet when I was a kid, so I want some kind of 70’s style writing like you would see on the side of a van.

My plan is to make a vinyl sticker using our new Cricut Joy Xtra machine.  I’ll slap it on there and then cover it up with clear coat to protect everything.

I found a cool graffiti font on the intrawebs that let me lay out something cool.  I printed it out on paper to find the right size.

Then I separated it into the black and white layers to I can cut them out of the right color vinyl.

After “weeding” the sticker (removing the waste) you can use some transfer tape to lift it off the back.

Transfer tape helps to line it up and keep all the teensy parts connected and straight.

It looks great after taking off the transfer tape!

Now to repeat the process with the white letters inside the outline.

It looks cool if I say so myself!

The next step is a jillion layers of clear!
